Repair of our Sidewalks

For a long time now, our sidewalks along Prince Street have been uneven and a real hazard to people who pass by our church and for us who walk them every Sunday. Thanks to our very pro-active Junior Warden, Jane Offner, we now have even and safe sidewalks! This is one of many projects accomplished this year. We have also: 1) repaired our roof, 2) repaired and sealed the basement, 3) repointed the front steps, 4) repaired our air conditioning unit, and 5) added a dishwasher booster unit.

Future projects planned with money approved for them are the creation and installation of a sign (one which will match the Episcopal Home sign), and convert lighting in the sanctuary to LED lighting.

We are so blessed with a beautiful building and welcoming grounds. It is a wonderful thing that we can be good stewards of them.

Sweaty Sunday

Today we gathered as people who care about our church and want to offer our talents and gifts in many ways. Our grounds now look beautiful and are ready for mulch (which will involve another Sweaty Sunday)!

We gathered to make a difference to our church yard

We began with a meal, of course, and had a great Oktoberfest potluck picnic, with sausages, hot dogs, macaroni and cheese, sauerkraut, cider and lots of goodies such as pies and donuts.

Being nourished in body, we got to work– raking leaves, cutting back perennials, trimming bushes and trees, and removing debris. It was a picture-perfect day for this church event — sunny skies and warm temperatures.

Cleaning out the flower beds.

We are so grateful for our grounds which tell our community that we care about our church — but also about everyone who passes by. The beauty of our grounds speaks loudly of our generosity of heart and hospitality to our community.

We’ll have a beautiful bulb garden in the spring

We are so grateful for the wonderful parishioners who tend our gardens on a weekly basis throughout most of the year. They are dedicated souls who care about keeping our yards beautiful– and we are so thankful for their persistent and ongoing efforts.

Our next Sweaty Sunday will be 11/24, when we will mulch the beds and begin to decorate our buildings and grounds for the Advent and Christmas season. Please plan to join us!

Newly Painted Handicap Ramp

This past weekend, parishioners gathered to paint the ramp with non-skid paint to allow everyone to come into our worship space safely. It is very important to us that we care for all our parishioners and want to make sure all can enter our buildings without any difficulties. Thank you to all who showed up and made a difference!
