Essentials Collection

One of our ministries which has a powerful impact on our neighbors who live in the adjacent family shelter is our essentials collection. Several times a year, our parish community gathers around these vulnerable people who are trying mightily to start their new lives, and provide basic essentials. These household items are so appreciated because they often are not covered by food stamps and they are really expensive.

These collection times are scheduled for the “down months” perhaps after the generous outpouring of the hearts of the community during Christmas or even in the spring — but we realize that people can feel our love throughout the year. We are grateful we are able to offer concrete assistance which shows our support of all their efforts for their lives to become sustainable and to offer a stable family live. We hope our small part helps people move from surviving to thriving.

Community CARES Essentials Collection, faithfully offered to you by John and Sandi Boyle.

All of you have come through time and again, and it is so very heartening to see your kind hearts and gentle hands doing the work of the kingdom: generous giving, helping others, and lifting the spirits of those whose security has been shaken or lost.

Going shopping? see if you can pick up an extra or two. It will be appreciated, I know.

Galatians 6:9 And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.

Philippians 4:4-5 Keep on rejoicing in the Lord at all times. I will say it again: Keep on rejoicing! Let your gracious attitude be known to all people. The Lord is near.
