For the past 16 years, we have been opening our doors — and hearts– to our community on Christmas morning to welcome our neighbors to share a meal with us — on this holiest of days. It is a perfect way to take the love which spilled into our world on Christmas Day and give it away, for that is always what we believe God asks of us.
Each year we serve a complete Christmas dinner, oftentimes with roast turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, green bean casserole, creamed corn casserole, rolls, and pie or sometimes variations such as cooked ham, sweet potatoes, and then the favorites. This year, we added Christmas Cookies baked by our neighborhood children. . And it is wonderful. We often have up to 40 volunteers, from within our parish and many beyond our parish, come together to make this meal a wonderful success.
This is such a blessing to welcome our friends on Christmas morning. For our friends have actually become our family~!
