Occasionally changing where and how we worship changes our perspective. It allows us to hear familiar lessons in a new way, invites us to see the church as “us” outside the building, and refreshes our sense of God in our midst while in the beauty of creation. Yesterday we worshipped on our front lawn, in the refreshingly cool air, and gathered together to praise God in a slightly new way. One of my favorite parts of the service was when we had completed singing the Communion Hymn, and in that usually quiet space when we wait for the ministers to return from serving people at the Episcopal Home, the birds carried forward our hymn in their own birdsong. It was a day that will be remembered well as a faithful expression of God in our midst and out into our community. Thank you for all who set everything up for worship and all those who were with us! It was really glorious.
If you would like to see more photos of the day, please go to our website and click on photo galleries. If you have photos of the day to share, please put them on our Facebook page or email them to Mike Rhodes or me and we’ll get them on our website. It’s fun, and faithful, to share our good news of being the church outside our building walls.
With joy, Mo. Barbara
