We take forming our young people in their faith very seriously here at St. Andrew’s. We offer them specially designed activities during church that make their worship meaningful and relevant to them. And we offer many opportunities at 9 a.m. for their formation —

Godly Play, designed for ages 2-8, which is an interactive and reflective approach to the sacred stories, when each child is asked to wonder where they are in the story, to ponder the meaning and relevance to their lives, and to produce an art response that means something to them.

Brick by Brick, designed for those 9-12, is a Lego-based curriculum that takes a sacred story, asks probing questions, and then asks our young people to create a response using Legos. What fun!

Our youth have so many gifts to offer our community, some of which are musical gifts. We always encourage their offering of their gifts as part of our worship, whether they are vocal or instrumental gifts. Once a month, we are blessed that our Youth Music and Choir Director, Lisa Turchi, engages our young people in their offering and praise of God through their musical talents. We all have a desire to sing to the Lord, and we always include our young people in this endeavor.

For those who are preparing for confirmation (11-14 years old) we offer a monthly class where we explore the Book of Common Prayer, pulling apart each of the parts of the Holy Eucharistic service, and making it real and relevant for our young people.

For our young people, we also offer Youth Mini-Mission Events that help our young people connect what happens on Sunday into action.

We are always open to hearing what the needs of our young people are so that we can meet them. They are not only the future of our faith, but the present as well, and we honor that.
