In-Person Church at 8 a.m.

We invite you to this quiet, spoken service of worship which includes prayer, scripture, reflection, and the sacrament of the Holy Eucharist. It will be a time for your soul to settle and your heart to open and to be in community with others as we share the gift of the sacrament and then being sent out into the world to “be the sacrament” — the body of Christ. Due to COVID safety precautions, we are limited to 25 people…

In-Person Church at 10 a.m.

We invite you to join us for this time of worship, set within prayer, sacred scripture, music, and reflection and the Holy Eucharist. It is glorious when we can gather in community and communion. All COVID safety precautions are honored, which involves safe-distancing and wearing masks. Although we aren’t singing as a congregation, music is an integral part of our worship and continues to be so with beautiful instrumental music. You are all invited to come and settle your souls…

Prayer Shawl Ministry Group Gathering

If you knit or crochet, we invite you to join our Prayer Shawl Ministry. We meet the first Sunday of every month in the Parish Library, where we will pray, knit, and support each other as we create prayer shawls which will be blessed by the congregation and offered to someone in need. If you want to learn how to knit or crochet, show up and we’ll teach you.

Community Meal

Twice each month, on the first and second Mondays of the month, we open our doors and share a meal with our neighbors and friends who come to us hungry for a good home-cooked meal and our friendship. Typically we serve 55-70 guests a full and well-balanced meal. This is part of our community’s care for those in need of physical food as well as the spiritual food of friendship. It is an amazing opportunity to extend the grace offered…

Community Meal

Twice a month we are able to provide meals to our neighbors. It is a gift for us to be able to open our hands and hearts and help others — and of course, love is always a two-way street — we are made richer by their involvement in our lives. We are serving “Grab and Go” meals during this time of safety precautions due to the pandemic, but the meals are healthy and prepared with love. If you would…

Meditation or Centering Prayer

In these times when so much is overwhelming and life is pressing hard upon us, and every moment it seems as though we need to adapt yet again to one more thing, our returning to God is essential. This happens in many ways, through reading, walking in nature, studying the scripture, serving at the community meal, engaging in small group discussions, talking to our children about their faith — and so often the very best pathway to open our hearts…

Early Church Writings

We will gather electronically to delve into the early church writings, or the Epistles, which are the oldest books in our New Testament. We will prepare by reading the text (each Epistle), learn about its context, history, key words, important theological concepts and significance in our current thinking, and then explore how it may have shaped our worship practices or how it fits into our life today. Our sessions will last one hour, with about 30 minutes of that in…

The Universal Christ Book Group

We gather every other week to discuss the book, The Universal Christ, which is written by Richard Rohr, a Franciscan monk and a Roman Catholic priest. His writing offers an expansive way to view the difference between Jesus (the person who embodied humanity and divinity) and Christ, which is the presence of the Risen Christ, made possible through the resurrected Jesus, yet also was in the beginning with the presence of God the Creator. It’s a fascinating book which leads…

SPO Egg Money Collection

Every month we ask our members to support our commitment to SPO (Shippensburg Produce Outreach), our local food panty, with a donation of $75.00 per month or a total of $900 per year. This month allows our community to provide fresh eggs to our clients. This is an important reach out into our community that we have been participating in for many years. We are grateful to be a part of making it better for the people who are our…
