Lent is a season designed so we can answer the pull from God to return, to that which is true about us, that which is of God within us, that which puts us in right relationship with ourselves, with others, and with God.
There are many Lenten spiritual resources available, but the one I’m encouraging us to engage with this year is “Meeting Jesus in the Gospel of John“. This flexible program can be done individually, or as a small group in the parish, or as part of a larger online community. It involves a daily online video, a prayer journal, and encouragement for reflection and sharing.
Here are the questions they pose to us in the introduction:
Have you ever wished to deepen your relationship with God? To experience a warm friendship with God? Maybe even fall in love with God – again – or for the very first time?
If this is true, please click here or see Mother Barbara so you can be a part of the parish effort to deepen our understanding of Jesus. This is a joint venture by the Episcopal Religious Order of The Society of St. John the Evangelist and Virginia Theological Seminary.
