St. Andrew’s, this warm and welcoming community is my spiritual home for more reasons than I can name. What stands out? There are so many opportunities to engage in activities that stretch and form my spirituality in such a way that all facets of my living are transformed: Participating in the liturgy, the opportunity to explore my gifts. The opportunity to explore the gifts of others. Learning and experiencing that what I say on Sunday mornings is what I am. Deeper living, noticing, Less of me, more of God.
And it’s never once and done. Just when one facet gets polished up, another calls out for attention. And God and I go there, hand in hand to see what we can brighten up and bring to light.
While going for the sermon is never how I pick a church, the sermons I hear at St. Andrew’s help me understand God’s word in ways that I can carry into how I see God in others and respond to them from a place of standing on Holy Ground.
