We were so blessed that both Mother Betsy and Mother Carenda were able to come “home” and worship with us this past Sunday. Both of these amazing priests were formed by us at St. Andrew’s, and therefore formed us in the image of Christ. Mother Betsy served as our Curate from 2013-2015, which means she came to us after her ordination as a transitional deacon and served full-time in our parish, under Mother Barbara’s guidance and spiritual leadership. Mother Betsy then went on to serve a parish in the Diocese of Pennsylvania and now works on the Bishop’s staff as Canon for Transitional Ministry.
Mother Carenda also came to us as a transitional deacon and served among us, learning from us and shaping our hearts, especially through her preaching and pastoral care. We had the joy of having her priestly ordination at our parish, which was so filled with the Holy Spirit. Mother Carenda now serves as the rector at Trinity Episcopal Church in Chambersburg.
There was much joy and excitement and the presence of the Holy Spirit among us as we sang, laughed, worshiped, glorified God together. It was a very special day!
