In these times when so much is overwhelming and life is pressing hard upon us, and every moment it seems as though we need to adapt yet again to one more thing, our returning to God is essential. This happens in many ways, through reading, walking in nature, studying the scripture, serving at the community meal, engaging in small group discussions, talking to our children about their faith — and so often the very best pathway to open our hearts to God is through being silent which allows us to open our hearts before God through meditation or centering prayer techniques. When we can quiet our minds and allow our focus to be on our breath or a repeated phrase, such as a mantra, it is amazing how differently our days unfold.
You are all invited to join us for this time of silence every Tuesday morning at 9:30 a.m. in the church. For those for whom the right choice is to meet by Zoom, you are very welcome to join us virtually as well. Email Mother Barbara for the link.

We begin with a few moments of quiet conversation, a time to develop our spiritual friendships, then listen to a prayer, poem or some insightful reading, then we ring the singing bowl, and then settle into our settled and restorative time together, Engaging in this spiritual practice with others provides the support needed for this deep time of prayer.
If you have never meditated or entered into centering prayer and would like some guidance, just ask. Just like any other form of prayer, you can’t do it wrong!
All are invited to “be still and know God” every Tuesday morning.
