Youth Mini-Mission Events are for our young people ages 9-18 and their friends. We often hold the events on Saturday or Sunday late afternoon or evening.
The Catechism found in our Book of Common Prayer states the mission of the Church is to restore all people to unity with God and each other in Christ. It further states the Church pursues its mission as it prays, worships, proclaims the Gospel, and promotes justice, peace, and love. This is the reason we have our Youth Mini-Mission Events (YMMEs). We as members of the Body of Christ live into our mission of promoting justice, peace, and love in our broken work, and as a result deepen our relationships with each other, with God, and with God’s creation, our earth.
We invite all our young people (ages 9-18), their friends, their parents and other adults from the parish to come and be Christ’s hands and feet in our world. Our past events have included a focus on feeding the hungry, addressing the needs of displaced persons, and caring for our relationship with God through our care for our earth (God’s primary revelation). These events have been meaningful and moving for all involved and are an important part of the faith formation of our young people. Please see our calendar on this website for events planned throughout this year and our photo galleries for images from our recent events! They’ll touch your hearts with joy that our young people are making a difference in our community.
