For 3-12 year olds – Meets Sunday at 9 a.m. on the 3rd Sunday of the month, in the Parish Life Center by the piano.
We at St. Andrew’s love our children to be actively participate and assist in leading our worship, offering them many opportunities beyond the tradition roles of crucifer and acolyte. One invitation we offer is for our young people to sing during our worship services, usually on the major feast celebrations such as Christmas Eve, Easter, Pentecost and All Saints’ Day.
We understand our children to be leading worship, not performing, as they offer their heart, souls, and voices to deepen our worship experience. We have found that we all are the richer for their participation, as their singing encourages them to be creative and expressive in their learning about the Bible stories or the special feast days we are celebrating, and we as adults know our hearts and souls are lifted closer to the holy as they sing. Many adults have shared their own fond memories from youth choir, and we pray that this will be the experience of our youth as well. All children are welcomed and encouraged to participate.
We are very blessed that Lisa Turchi, a renowned vocalist and vocal teacher, leads our young people into their musical expression.
